William Toffler, MD
  • Family Practice with OB

William Toffler, MD is a Professor Emeritus of Family Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University where he taught for 34 years and had a wide scope of practice ranging from delivering babies to geriatric and palliative care. He is one of three co-founders of Holy Family Catholic Clinic and brings a wealth of experience to his patients within our Practice.

Dr. Toffler is also co-founder and National Director of Physicians for Compassionate Care Education Foundation (PCCEF), a non-profit that promotes compassionate care for severely ill patients without sanctioning or assisting their suicide. PCCEF physicians affirm an ethic based on the principle that all human life is inherently of value and that the physician’s roles are to heal illness, alleviate suffering, and provide comfort for the sick and dying. He has also been a member of the Physicians Resource Council at Focus on the Family for over 20 years.

He is committed to defending the long-standing, medical prohibition against doing harm. He is frequently invited to speak about these and other medical ethical issues at both national and international conferences. He is also often interviewed on television and radio including NPR, 60 Minutes, Good Morning America, as well as by international media in Canada, Australia, the UK and Japan.

He has 7 children and 22 grandchildren.

Mark Mailhot, MD, MS, MPH, grew up as the oldest child in a large Catholic family. As a physics major in college, he fell away from his faith and was brought back through visiting Medjugorje. He attended medical school in Pittsburgh. After further studies and training in Portland, San Diego, and Staten Island, he joined a large multispecialty clinic in the greater Portland area where he spent a decade as a primary care physician. For the next 3 years, he worked as a “traveling doctor” for underserved populations in Washington State. He enjoys the opportunity to practice medicine with other Catholic providers. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, reading, cooking, and gardening.

She creates long-term relationships with her patients assisting in healing in any way she can.

Michael Sherman, MD, PhD, is one of three co-founders of Holy Family Catholic Clinic. Creating the most pleasant patient experience possible by delivering superior medical care and outstanding customer service is the driving force behind Dr. Michael Sherman’s practice. “Medicine has been a natural culmination of my science training as a Ph.D. Chemist and living out my faith by serving the patients within my community.” His board certifications in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics allow Dr. Sherman to be a specialist for both adults and children. Dr. Sherman loves spending time with his family and church community, and he enjoys many outdoor activities including hiking, backpacking, mountain climbing, boating and fishing. He attended Creighton University in Omaha, NE for Medical School and Residency. He has lived and practiced medicine in the Corvallis area since 2003.

James Trott, PMHNP

I work with clients who are experiencing anxiety, depression, attention deficits, life transitions, or simply feel that they want to improve their mental health. My clients are looking for a mental health expert that they can collaborate with as they develop their own treatment goals, and are willing to be intentional in their pursuit of these goals.

I am a Doctor of Nursing Practice who is board-certified in Psychiatry. I provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health disorders primarily through medication management, with psychotherapy being available on a limited basis.
