Front Desk Receptionist

Job Title: Front Office Receptionist

Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 8:15am-5pm

Position Objective:

Contribute to the smooth and efficient functioning of the clinic by providing high-quality administrative support to the patients, doctors, providers and staff at the clinic.

Undertake all duties in a caring and supportive manner and provide an exceptional standard of care to patients at all times.

Working Conditions: This position is in a fast-paced and multi-tasking medical office

environment.

  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome patients, record appointments and patient arrival, inform patients of delays
  • Answer telephone calls promptly and courteously; pass on messages to the appropriate person(s)
  • Responsible for incoming and outgoing mail and faxes
  • Assure the readiness of the lobby area for working each day; open the building at the designated time and have all front office activities fully operational at the start of business
  • Register patients according to protocols
  • Process copays and/or payments from uninsured patients
  • Determine patients’ financial status and their insurance eligibility
  • Assist patients in completing the necessary forms accurately
  • Schedule patient appointments per office protocols
  • Maintain forms and office supplies required for front office operations
  • Respect and maintain privacy and dignity of patients; always assure patient confidentiality
  • Participate in staff and educational meetings
  • Maintain a filing system for all patient documents
  • Direct medical questions to medical staff
  • Perform routine clinic duties each shift
  • Tidy lobby area and kid’s room
  • Empty surrounding shredding documents
  • Other duties as assigned

Expectations:

  • Take direction from your manager
  • Commit to absolute confidentiality of client information
  • Secure an approved substitute if unable to work assigned shift
  • Attend all in-service training or obtain pertinent information

Reports to: Business Manager

Attire: Business Casual

Salary: based on experience
